Fomo respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Fomo iOS app and related services.

By using Fomo, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following information:

Account information

When you create an account, sign in, or update your profile, we may collect your name, email address, mobile phone number, profile information, authentication identifiers, and profile photo.

Where available, Fomo supports Sign in with Apple and phone-based authentication, including SMS verification. With Sign in with Apple, we may receive an authentication identifier and the name and email address you choose to share, which may be an Apple private relay email address. Fomo does not receive your Apple ID password.

Mobile phone and SMS consent information

We may collect your mobile phone number and SMS consent records when you join the waitlist, request Fomo notifications, create an account, sign in, or use account security features.

App usage and technical information

We may collect information about the features you use and technical information needed to operate the app, including push notification tokens, device identifiers where applicable, app version, device type, operating system, and diagnostic or crash information. We use this information to deliver notifications, support app functionality, and maintain performance and reliability.

Photos and user content

When you use features that support user-generated content, you may provide photos, profile images, videos, stories, or other media. We may store, process, and display this content primarily to provide the app's functionality. This content is not used for third-party advertising unless explicitly disclosed otherwise.

2. Location Information

With your permission, Fomo may collect precise or approximate device location to:

  • Show nearby venues and events
  • Determine your distance from venues and events
  • Calculate estimated travel times
  • Provide location-based recommendations and functionality

Location information may be processed by Fomo and service providers that support mapping, transportation, hosting, or related functionality. You can manage location permission in your device settings. Some location-based features may be limited when location access is turned off.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Register you for the Fomo waitlist
  • Send waitlist and app launch notifications when you opt in
  • Send Fomo event or account notifications you request
  • Create and manage your account
  • Authenticate you through Sign in with Apple or phone-based sign-in, where available
  • Send one-time SMS verification codes
  • Verify that your phone number belongs to you
  • Provide and improve Fomo features
  • Show nearby venues and events, distances, and estimated travel times
  • Store and display the profile information and media you provide
  • Protect the app from fraud, spam, and misuse
  • Respond to support requests
  • Maintain app security and reliability

4. SMS and Mobile Information

If you provide your mobile phone number and opt in to receive SMS messages from Fomo, we may use your number to send:

  • Waitlist and launch notifications
  • Updates related to Fomo
  • Event or account notifications you request
  • One-time verification codes for authentication and security

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

Mobile information, including phone numbers and SMS consent records, will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

We may share mobile information with service providers, such as messaging providers, only as necessary to deliver Fomo messages and operate the service.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share limited information only when necessary to:

  • Provide app functionality
  • Deliver Fomo SMS messages through service providers
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues
  • Protect the rights and safety of Fomo, users, or others

Service providers are only allowed to use information as needed to provide services to Fomo.

6. Third-Party Services

Fomo may use service providers to support the following functions, depending on the features you use:

  • Authentication and SMS verification
  • Push notifications
  • Hosting and infrastructure
  • Media storage and delivery
  • Maps and estimated travel times
  • Transportation integrations
  • Analytics and crash reporting, if applicable

These providers may process information as needed to support the app and in accordance with their own privacy policies.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We keep your information for as long as necessary to provide the app, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

You can initiate account deletion from within the Fomo app. You may also contact luis@iosfomo.com for privacy or account-related questions, or requests about your personal information.

9. Children's Privacy

Fomo is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

10. Your Choices

You may:

  • Update your account information
  • Initiate account deletion from within the Fomo app
  • Manage location and push notification permissions in your device settings
  • Stop using the app
  • Reply STOP to opt out of SMS messages

After you opt out, Fomo will stop sending SMS messages unless you later provide consent again.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

12. Transportation Integrations

When you choose to use an available transportation integration, Fomo may process pickup and destination locations and other information needed to show ride options, estimated travel times, fares, or pickup times, or to connect you to a transportation service. Information needed for the feature may be shared with the service providers supporting that integration.

If an integration lets you connect a transportation account, Fomo may receive the information you authorize to provide the requested feature. Your use of the transportation service is also subject to that service's own terms and privacy practices.
